Escape from Nigeria: A Memoir of Faith, Love, and War
Escape from Nigeria: A Memoir of Faith, Love, and War chronicles the life of Angelina Ihejirika, a young mother who struggled to protect her children during the outbreak of the Nigerian-Biafran War. A letter Ihejirika wrote to her husband, who was studying at Northwestern University, sparked great involvement with his dean, U.S. Congressmen, and the leader of Biafra. This eventually led to raising money to fund the escape of Ihejirika and her children from the warfare and their entry into the US on June 1969.
